New booster jab online booking system launched

Aims to relieve pressure on 111 service

A new online system for people to book Covid-19 booster jabs appointments has been launched.

Government says it will help fill up available appointment slots and relieve pressure on the 111 service.

Boosters are being rolled out in priority group order in line with advice from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI).

Those aged 60 and over and those classed as clinically extremely vulnerable (priority groups 1-7) are eligible to book their booster dose online.

Only those in those categories are able to book online at this time.

Those with slots already confirmed will keep their booking and are asked to attend their slot as scheduled.

Health and Social Care Minister, Lawrie Hooper, says the new system will provide greater flexibility for members of the public.
