A newly-elected commissioner in Port Erin says she'll encourage the authority to listen more to the views of local people.
Barbara Guy, who's new to local politics, won a seat on the board at a by-election on Thursday.
She wants to ensure plenty of opportunities for local youngsters and has made revitalisation of the village her priority.
Mrs Guy says the board exists to serve the needs of the local community and in her view, needs more input from ratepayers:
MHK won't sign bishop's vote legislation
Treasury minister 'won't pre-empt Budget' by discussing triple lock future
Questions over future of Diocese of Sodor and Man as Bishop's vote Bill progresses
Advancing technology means more tools to aid people with sight loss
