Alastair Montgomerie has joined the ranks of the Isle of Man's top judges.
He has been made a deemster, following Andrew Corlett's elevation to second deemster, under Deemster Doyle.
Deemster Montgomerie will preside over the Island's highest criminal court, the Court of General Gaol.
He came to the Isle of Man in 1991 and worked in the attorney general's offices.
He is married and has two adult sons.
