Interim position holder given role
The Island has a new director of public health.
Dr Henrietta Ewart has been the interim director for the past 18 months, but has been given the position on a permanent basis, starting in December.
The Department of Health and Social Care says her initial priorities will include ensuring it has good information on the health of the Island’s population, so initiatives and resources can be targeted where they are needed most.
Dr Ewart says a new information leaflet and video have been produced to outline how this will be done.
