Jab offers increased protection for older patients
Over-65s on the Isle of Man will receive a new flu vaccine this year.
The immune system doesn't respond as well to the traditional vaccine in those aged 65 and over, but the adjuvanted jab is designed to improve the body's immune response.
Those who are eligible for the vaccination programme are now being advised to book an appointment with their GPs or at a pharmacy ahead of the flu season.
Director of Public Health Dr Henrietta Ewart explains how the new vaccine works:
Government 'expects fuel pricing to stabilise by middle of week'
Tanker carrying 4.5 million litres of fuel waiting to dock
Queues at pumps as diesel prices increase across Island
We aren't the fun police!
