Devon Watson beat David Cretney for the role
The new leader of Douglas Council says he hopes to continue 'improving' housing standards and the services carried out by the local authority.
Devon Watson was elected to the position ahead of David Cretney by eight votes to three and will hold the position for two years.
Peter Washington is now chair of the Housing Committee, Falk Horning remains in charge of the Environmental Services Committee and Natalie Byron-Teare will take on the Regeneration and Community Committee.
Mr Watson says he is looking forward to working with officers, new board members and the government as leader.
