New look, new era for Union HQ

Modern makeover for Unite premises

The Island headquarters of trade union Unite has been officially opened today (31 July) after a major refurbishment.

The premises in Fort Street boast new training and meeting rooms as well as video conferencing and canteen facilities.

Downstairs facilities for disabled members have also been installed, which will comply with the Disability Discrimination Act when it comes into force next year.

The union's national officer Kevin Coyne and financial director Ed Sabisky have been at the Douglas HQ for the cutting of the ribbon this lunchtime.

Island contractor SCS Ltd led the project, which has been completed on time and on budget.
