Commissioners say face-to-face service is something residents want
Ramsey Town Commissioners say they’re hoping a new ‘regional hub’ will prove beneficial for the town’s ageing population.
On Friday (25 September) government will open the ‘Northern Information Centre’ at the Town Hall.
It will provide face-to-face help and support for people accessing government services and for those who struggle with modern technology.
Two members of staff from the Welcome Centre will operate the facility between 10am and 4pm and a freephone service will be available outside of those hours.

Initial services offered include signposting, help with resetting passwords, paying invoices, buying travel tickets, help with applications and tourist information.
The Northern Information Centre will be cashless to begin with.
Government is also planning to release information about other hub locations, around the Island, in due course.
