Council member seeking details on colleague dismissal
The local authority registration row has taken a new twist after a long-standing Douglas councillor claimed he was being refused information.
Stephen Pitts has tabled questions for next week’s council sitting.
He says he’s twice asked to see the legal advice Douglas Corporation obtained before it forced Jon Joughin to stand down for not being on the electoral register.
Changes earlier this year meant people had to register to be on the list rather than their name be automatically retained.
