Wintry showers expected over coming days

A new yellow weather warning for snow has been issued until midday on Monday (5 January).

The Ronaldsway Met Office says wintry showers today (2 January) and tomorrow will be around the south of the Island and 'short-lived'.

Conditions are expected to worsen on Sunday (4 January) with 'slight accumulations of hail or snow possible at all levels.'

The Met Office says temperatures will then recover on Monday morning.

Civil Defence Isle of Man is encouraging anyone who lives near a salt box to use them and keep pathways clear.

The Mountain Road is also due to remain closed until 12pm on Monday.
