A candidate in the 2006 General Election is to try again this September.
Nigel Dobson will once again stand for the Liberal Vannin Party and will once again stand in Garff.
So far, the only other candidate to declare is sitting member, Speaker of the House of Keys, Steve Rodan.
Mr Dobson is one of the founder members of the party and a member and former chairman of Lonan Commissioners.
He says the next five years are likely to be extremely challenging and a strong voice to challenge and question government can only help ensure right decisions are taken.
Party leader Peter Karran says Mr Dobson would be a real asset to both constituents in Garff and to the Island.
