'No evidence Covid cluster isn't under control' - Health Minister

Ashford expects government will host briefing today

The health minister says there's no evidence the recent cluster of coronavirus cases on the Island aren't under control.

It's as some have questioned why government hasn't implemented social distancing and mask wearing measures.

For now though, David Ashford says there's no reason to worry:

Minister Ashford expects government will provide an update at a media briefing later today.

'It's still a low-risk venue in terms of contracting the virus. In terms of the staff [returning to work] I honestly don't know - I'll have to check that with Public Health.' - on the cases at Java Express.

The health minister spoke live on Manx Radio's Breakfast programme this morning, discussing the cases at Java Express, whether vulnerable people should be shielding, and offers from local genomics labs.
