
The Education Minister says he'll do what he can to protect university funding.
Peter Karran was speaking after Tynwald approved regulations introducing a £9,000 cap on university grants from September for most courses.
From September 2013, students will also need higher grades to qualify for university support.
However, Mr Karran has again admitted he can give no long-term guarantees over student fees.
