No Isle of Man Pavilion in Lorient this year

Festival set to go ahead in August

It’s been confirmed there will be no Isle of Man pavilion at the Interceltic Festival in Lorient later this year.

The festival is still set to go ahead in August, with organisers awaiting further direction from the French Government.

Peter Young, who coordinates the Manx pavilion, says this does not mean there won't be any Manx representation:

Each year, a delegation of Manx musicians and performers travel to the gathering which attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors.

Groups invited to perform this year include Clash Vooar and Manx Concert Brass.

In a post on social media, Mr Young offered thanks to Culture Vannin, the Arts Council and politicians who'd helped him make the difficult decision:
