
Castletown Commissioners won’t be objecting to the latest attempt by supermarket chain Tesco to apply for a licence to sell alcohol in Castletown.
The store wants to move into a large retail unit in Callow’s Yard and has already been turned down twice by a licensing court.
However, the local authority – which had objected to the last two applications - won’t repeat its concerns about the number of licenses in the town.
Chairman Kevin Weir says the board voted not to object despite being surprised at the fact Tesco wanted to make a new application:
