Work will stop during the TT fortnight
The infrastructure minister says new scanners being installed at Ronaldsway comply with airport regulations and are on par with regional airports elsewhere.
The security equipment is being replaced in phases, with one machine currently being fitted, before work is paused during the TT fortnight.
As a result, only one security queue is in operation.
But these aren't the C3 scanners - which allow people to leave liquids and electronics in their bags while passing through security - as the airport says installing them 'would require major terminal redevelopment', which is 'not currently viable'
