Gawne says scheme would create a fairer system
Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne says he can’t understand why some Tynwald members objected to a scheme which would have forced them and public servants to pay for their parking.
In Tynwald this week, members approved a scheme which had been defeated by Legislative Council during last month’s sitting.
Mr Gawne says he still can’t understand opposition to the measures which he says will create a fairer system.
He says those who opposed it didn’t respond to an invitation to explain their concerns:
Amber weather warning issued as strong winds and coastal conditions expected overnight
Hospice funding criticised by UK charity chief amid Isle of Man service cuts
Sailings cancelled as storm brings gale-force winds
Manx Mountain Marathon route diverted over safety concerns amid forecast strong winds
