Circulating social media claims state a dog has died
Police have confirmed no official reports have been made to officers regarding claims of 'poisoning incidents' in the north of the Island.
A warning was issued to dog owners on Facebook, last week, with the poster imploring people to be vigilant in Ramsey 'around Waterloo Road, the railway tracks and by Fynoderee'.
They claimed food has been left on the ground 'resembling meatballs or sandwiches' which has been 'poisoned'.
It was also stated that there have been 'two recent poisoning incidents and one dog has very sadly died'.
The appeal implored those who spot the food to 'pick up with gloves and bin it' and 'if your dog gets sick, please take [them] straight to the vet and contact the police with as much detail as possible.'
Commenters on Facebook also stated they have seen similar food products on the floor in the area.
Manx Radio contacted police to see if anyone has reported anything to them.
The Isle of Man Constabulary has confirmed it has not been contacted.
