Noble's will get better says minister

Health Minister Howard Quayle says improvements are on the way at Noble’s Hospital.

He was speaking after the second report by the West Midlands Quality Review Service showed only 39 per cent of quality standards for acute care were being met.

The WMQRS, which is reviewing the whole health service, including primary care provided by GPs, said only 150 out of 388 quality standards had been met during its inspection in March.

This included services right across the health service, not just those provided by Nobles. Some long term patients are cared for by their GPs at home, not in hospitals.

Future reviews will concentrate on areas such as public health and mental health provision.

Mr Quayle says there is plenty to be positive about – but acknowledges some changes and improvements are needed.

He his department is working hard, and has nothing to hide:
