North Pacific eXXpedition collects 'densest sample'

Manx Biosphere ambassador helping to map ocean plastic

The team of citizen scientists monitoring plastic levels in the Pacific ocean has collected one of their densest findings yet.

Nine hundred miles north of the Hawaiian Island O'ahu, crew aboard the Sea Dragon filtered a water sample through a series of screens, to discover over 1,000 pieces of plastic.

Manx marine biologist Rowan Henthorn is a part of the 23 all-woman expedition, which is documenting marine debris at the North Pacific Gyre.
