Nose to tail from Douglas to Greeba!

The weather has been causing problems for motorists in the Isle of Man again today (Tuesday).

An accident near Handley's corner closed the stretch of road between Ballig bridge and Douglas Road corner for several hours this morning, and police say they dealt with numerous accidents and minor collisions throughout last night, due to icy patches on the roads.

Rain, sleet and snow made the situation worse, even though gritters had been out since 5am.

At one stage this morning, traffic heading west from Douglas was nose to tail from Quarterbridge to Gorse Lea in Greeba.

The Mountain Road remains closed today as do the roads at Tholt y Will, Druidale and East Baldwin.

Also closed are the Rushen Abbey Road, the Injebreck and Brandywell roads and routes leading to the Round Table Road.

All bus services are operating as normal, except for Route 8A which is cancelled, Route 63/64 which is not serving Ballchrink, Ronague, Cregneash and the Sound, and Route 13/13A which is not going to Old Laxey.
