"Not good enough, people deserve better" says minister
Swimming pools can reopen from Thursday this week, and many children would have been looking forward to jumping in the NSC leisure pool and hurtling down the flumes.
But, they'll have to wait a little longer.
Dollin Mercer has this report:
Opening times:
- Swimming pools - Thursday (18 June)
- NSC main pool - expected by the end of the month
- NSC flumes - expected by the end of the summer holidays
In December 2017, it was announced the leisure pool would close in August 2018 for eight months, so refurbishment works could be carried out.
Two and a half years later, the flumes still haven't returned.
Education, Sport and Culture Minister Dr Alex Allinson has admitted the delay to reopening them "is not good enough."
