The Isle of Man's first ever number plate has been sold at auction for £100,000.
MN1 was issued on January 1, 1906 for a white steam-car, owned by a George Drinkwater, of Braddan.
It was sold at the Mount Murray at an auction of some of the property of the late John Moore, and was expected to fetch between £15,000 and £25,000.
However, the anonymous buyer, exceeded the estimate by a considerable sum.
