Peaceful demonstration as row over pay escalates
Manx nurses are set to march through the streets of Douglas today in protest over pay.
The peaceful demonstration, by members of the Royal College of Nursing, will start at Noble’s Hospital, go via the Tynwald building and end at Villiers Square.
It’s in response to RCN’s rejection of the latest pay offer proposed by Manx Care and the recent strike action postal ballot in which 70 per cent of respondents voted in favour of industrial action.
The march gets underway at 9am.
