Residents reported phone call scams about boiler maintenance
The Office of Fair Trading is warning people not to fall for a boiler repair scam.
A number of Island residents have reported being contacted over the phone about a maintenance contract – before asking for bank account details.
Chief Officer at the OFT Mike Ball says don’t agree to any hard-sell, and never give any bank details over the phone.
If you’ve been contacted and have concerns, you can contact the OFT on 686500.
