MHK to withdraw Tynwald motion
The agreement over future ownership of Castletown Old Police Station is a 'win-win' situation according to an MHK who tabled an urgent Tynwald motion on the issue earlier this year.
Daphne Caine had called for it to be transferred to Manx National Heritage for free - that debate was adjourned until this month, and now looks set to be withdrawn.
Yesterday it was announced the property is to be transferred to the Manx Museum and National Trust in exchange for £100,000 along with the proceeds from the sale of another building.
But Mrs Caine says the issue of using charitable funds to buy historic buildings is something that could be reviewed in future.
