Onchan Commissioners won't be commenting on assault allegations 

Social media post claims it happened following public meeting

Onchan Commissioners says it's 'aware' of a social media post alleging one of its board members was involved in an incident at its public meeting last night.

The local authority adds that due to it involving a named individual, it wouldn't be appropriate to comment or speculate about the assault allegations. 

It also says that any complaint received would be considered and dealt with in accordance with the authority's procedures and relevant governance protocols. 

The social media post claims the chair of the authority has asked the clerk of the commissioners to investigate.

A statement from Onchan Commissioners said: "The authority is aware of the social media post you refer to.

"As this matter concerns an alleged incident involving a named individual, it would not be appropriate for the authority to comment on, or speculate about, allegations that have appeared on social media.

“Any complaint received by the authority would be considered and dealt with in accordance with the authority's established procedures and relevant governance protocols.”
