Onchan Rotary club appeal for Haiti

Help needed after hurricane and floods

An appeal's been made to help those in Haiti suffering the devastating effects of Hurricane Matthew.

The Rotary Club of Onchan is asking for donations to provide shelter and clean water after the natural disaster wreaked havoc across the country.

The aid will be delivered in the form of 'Shelter Boxes', a package containing a heavy duty tent, water filtration equipment and other household essentials.

Club president Nigel Dobson says levels of despair in Haiti must be huge and is urging the Island to contribute.

He says the scale of the disaster is unimaginable: (play audio)

Donations can be made out to Onchan Rotary, through the Liverpool Arms or the Snaefell Surgery.
