Opinion divided on phone masts

The man in charge of the Isle of Man's mobile phone network says the transmitter masts are safe, and operate at levels well below European safety guidelines.

Andy Bridson was a guest on Sunday Opinion, which considered the safety of masts such as the ones sited above a doctor's surgery in Onchan.

He said the transmitters in Onchan, and others around the Island, operate at a very low levels.

However, Dr Jack McCallister from the Onchan surgery said he wasn't convinced by some of the studies carried out in the United Kingdom.

One he referred to claimed to show there was no link between electro-hypersensitivity and mobile phone mast transmissions:
