No longer necessary to see GP first
Manx Care has relaunched the self-referral pathway to its musculoskeletal and physiotherapy team.
It means patients can gain access to treatment without seeing their GP first, providing they are ordinarily resident in the Island and registered with a GP.
The musculoskeletal service helps patients with a range of short and long-term problems including back and neck pain, sciatica, soft tissue injuries, sprains, strains, joint and muscular pain.
The team of chartered physiotherapists can provide a wide range of treatments including advice, support and individual rehabilitation and exercise plans for people with musculoskeletal conditions.
An electronic referral form has been developed and paper versions will be available from GP practices or by downloading directly of the relevant Manx Care web page.
Furthermore there are poster in all GP surgeries, local pharmacies, the minor injuries unit and the hospital emergency departments, which link you to the form via a QR code.
