Overnight stays at Sulby Claddagh will be allowed for TT

Government to keep site open during festival after public meeting

In the wake of Wednesday night's public meeting at which anger was expressed over the planned closure of Sulby Claddagh government has come up with what it calls an interim solution which will enable overnight stays at the site during the busy TT period.

It means people should be able to stay overnight in a tent, or motorhome, between 22 May to 18 June, and further details will be announced in due course. Further work will also be undertaken to seek to provide a financially viable solution for the whole summer season.

A consultation to gather public views on cost neutral future options for the common land will be launched by DEFA in the coming weeks, with people encouraged to share their views.
