PAG opposes library fingerprints

The Positive Action Group has weighed in with its views on biometric fingerprinting of schoolchildren.

The political lobby group says the system, being introduced in some school libraries in the Island, is a worrying development and no meaningful consultation has taken place.

Spokesman Tristram Llewellyn Jones says the move is tantamount to grooming children to hand over personal data to the authorities on request (audio file attached):

A Positive Action Group meeting, including a film about the erosion of civil liberties, will be held at the Claremont Hotel in Douglas, from 7.30pm on Monday.
