Pay deal could be costly warns Bell


A big arbitration deal for government manual workers could result in job losses.

That claim has come from the Chief Minister after an award was made to Whitely Council manual workers.

The deal was announced by the chairman of the employers side, after the body agreed a pay settlement for the current financial year.

Manual workers are to receive a one-off non pensionable payment of £400 in their January wages.

Chief Minister Allan Bell has warned the cash will have to be found somewhere and dipping into reserves just isn't an option:
