PCR tests for travellers could be dropped

Follows UK's decision to scrap extra testing

PCR tests for travellers returning to the Isle of Man from outside the Common Travel Area could be dropped in the near future.

Chief Minister Alfred Cannan has admitted it's under consideration following a decision in the UK to scrap the return tests there:

The measure was brought in last month due to the spread of the Omicron variant of Covid-19.

However, Director of Public Health Dr Henrietta Ewart admits that now it's the dominant strain there is less need for the additional testing:

The Common Travel Area refers to the UK, the Republic of Ireland, Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man.
