'Colonialism and empire shouldn't be a part of modern Manx society'
As King Charles III was proclaimed Lord of Mann from Tynwald Hill today a 'peaceful protest' took place in the crowd at St John's.
Signs, written on white paper in Manx Gaelic, read: 'Not Our Lord' and 'Romans go home' - the latter a reference to Monty Python's 'Life of Brian'.
They were held up by James O'Meara and Daisy May Hickey as the procession of Tynwald Members and other dignitaries made its way from the Royal Chapel.
The pair have been telling Manx Radio they don't think empire should be part of modern Manx society:
