MHKs to quiz ministers in 17-long question paper

The protection of peatland and the environmental impact of onshore wind farms will be among the topics put to the environment minister in today's House of Keys sitting (13 May).

Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse is set to ask three questions about the Cair Vie wind farm proposals - focusing on the potential disturbance to peat and the risk of bat fatalities associated with wind turbines.

Elsewhere in the 17-question paper, Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Tim Glover will ask how many bus routes operated by Bus Vannin are currently profitable.

Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper will raise concerns about NHS dental provision, while Mr Moorhouse will also query how many homes will be made available for people experiencing homelessness during the Isle of Man TT.

Douglas Central MHK Chris Thomas is expected to seek updates on the Ben-my-Chree's current operations and the long-term development plans for Ronaldsway Airport.

Meanwhile, Education Minister Daphne Caine will face questions on external reviews of University College Isle of Man, and Health Minister Claire Christian takes questions on access to data held by Manx Care.

Following questions, members will continue the clauses stage of the Reproductive Health Services Bill.

The Legislative Council will consider just one item - the principles stage of the Global Minimum Tax (Pillar Two) Order 2024 (Confirmation) Bill 2025.
