Permanent record of Winter Hill memories

There are plans to create a permanent record of memories about the Isle of Man's worst ever air disaster.

In February 1958 a Silver City Airways aircraft, travelling from the Island to Manchester, crashed into Winter Hill killing 35 people on board.

The Rotary Club of Douglas has a committee dedicated to arranging events to mark the fiftieth anniversary next year.

They are working with the Horwich Rotary club to make a video of people talking about what they can remember of the time.

Winter Hill Committee Chairman Howard Callow says they want to hear everyone's story:

The numbers to call for anyone interested are (day) 637750 or (evening) 851851
