Commissioner wants ceremony back in ancient capital
A Castletown Commissioner’s campaign to make sure the Lieutenant Governor is sworn in at Castle Rushen has gone to Tynwald.
On Tynwald Day in St John’s, Colin Leather presented a petition for redress of grievance about the ceremony moving to Douglas.
Mr Leather says traditionally it was held in the Ancient Capital – and he’s determined to reverse the decision to move it.
He says he’s already written to the Queen about the issue:
