Juan Watterson says other options haven't been considered
"The people of the south should feel betrayed by their government", according to one MHK after plans to close the Southern Swimming Pool were revealed.
A letter which was sent to pool staff, and subsequently leaked to Manx Radio, recommended the facility be permanently closed from the end of March.
Politicians will be asked to approve the decision, which is said to be based purely on financial grounds, in February's sitting of Tynwald.
Since the news broke, it's been met with widespread outrage.
Manx Radio has asked the Department of Education, Sport and Culture for a response, which hasn't been provided.
