Plans officially submitted for Lord Street regeneration scheme

Hopes for the site were announced back in May

Plans have now been officially submitted for a new development on Lord Street in Douglas.

If approved, they would see a mixed-use development built on the site, with 85 apartments, office space, a multi-screen cinema complex, restaurants and a food hall.

It would also include a new indoor bus information centre with a waiting area for bus passengers, public toilets and changing facilities.

The plans (24/00586/B) were first announced back in May, as the fourth scheme to be supported in principle through the Island Infrastructure Scheme.

It was also revealed that Ramsey-based Wyyttavin Limited had signed legally binding contracts with the current owners of the site (Lord Street Developments SPV Limited) to purchase it on condition that appropriate planning consent is granted.
