'The buildings are redundant and dilapidated'
Planning permission is being sought to demolish a number of 'redundant' buildings and structures at the old Turkeyland Quarry.
The site, near Ronaldsway Airport, is currently earmarked for use in part of a scheme to process and store waste asphalt and coal tar for the long-awaited new Balthane Roundabout.
The new application (26/00790/B) seeks the demolition of the former C. Kniveton Limited block plant buildings on the site.
They are described as 'dilapidated' and requiring work to make them safe, so the proposal to demolish is preferred.
