Plea for people to use water wisely

Follows dry period on Island during June and spring

People are being urged to use water wisely over the coming months.

The Isle of Man experienced a dry period in June and also in Spring.

As a result the Manx Utilities Authority wants people to think about how they use water supplies during drier times of the year.

Latest outlooks suggest 'near normal' rainfall is expected between July and September with slightly warmer than normal temperatures during that time.

However there's a 30-35 per cent chance of hotter spells in that period.

The public is asked to consider small changes to daily routines, at home and work, such as turning off the tap when brushing your teeth, fixing leaks and recycling used water.
