Farmers' union makes plea to the public
The Manx National Farmers' Union has reiterated its plea to walkers to avoid fields where cows and calves are grazing.
It comes during the calving season, when cows are said to be more dangerous due to increased agitation.
Mothers can feel threatened by walkers and other passers-by when in the presence of their offspring, particularly through instinctive fears of predators.
President of the Manx NFU, Tim Johnston, says the advice is for the good of individuals, and the wider Manx community:
Main road between Peel and Douglas to shut for tree felling
'Targeted and intelligence led approach' to protect Island's borders during Irish sailings
Airport Director role advertised with top salary of £120,000
Traders on Michael Street feel 'abandoned' by politicians in tough times
