Police appealing for witnesses after £400 cash lost in Ramsey

UPDATE: The man has attended the Ramsey Station himself to return the money he'd found

Police are appealing for witnesses after £400 in cash went missing in Ramsey yesterday (10 January).

A woman dropped the rolled-up bundle, outside Raymotors on Albert Road, between 2.45pm and 3.15pm and it's thought an unknown man picked it up.

He's said to have been wearing a multicoloured beanie hat and cargo pants and was with two other men.

Anyone who was in the area at the time, or who can help with the investigation, is asked to contact Police Headquarters.

UPDATE

Police say the man attended Ramsey station and explained that he had located the money.

"It looks like some has blown away as we have £300 left . Police have no suspicion that this individual intended the steal the money and he was not aware of the media posts. He has been thanked for returning the money.

"The male stated there was another member of the public in a silver car that helped pick up some money as it was blowing into the road. We will look to identify this vehicle/ individual to see if they too can assist in getting this money back.

We have seen on other forums offers to give money the lady which is a testament of our great community."
