Police IT change set to free-up officers

Chief welcomes 'labour saving' new approach

The Isle of Man Constabulary must modernise to better utilise its officers - according to the chief constable. 

A new £1.5 million IT computer system update has been announced. It will be introduced this week to replace the force's outdated systems, moving away from traditional paper-based records.

Officers are said to be struggling with a lack of resources - leaving some detective units understaffed.
