Police introduce WhatsApp line for residents to address concerns

It will be in operation every Tuesday from 4pm-6pm

Isle of Man residents are being invited to chat with police officers this afternoon, as part of efforts to make the emergency service more accessible.

From 4pm until 6pm, a dedicated WhatsApp line will be active, and officers will be monitoring direct messages on the constabulary's Facebook page.

The service is designed to enable those who have queries or concerns to be able to flag them in a less formal setting.

PC Louise Kennaugh told Manx Radio, in recent weeks they've seen an increase in those messaging about parking and littering:

The dedicated WhatsApp number is: 297 577
