Police investigating 'conflict' in Ramsey town centre

Group letting off fireworks believed to be responsible

Police are appealing for witnesses after 'conflict' in Ramsey last night. (5 November)

Officers say they're investigating three incidents which happened from 11pm in the town centre.

A group of people were reportedly seen lighting fireworks close to the Swing Bridge, on West Quay, before coming into conflict with others in the area.

Minutes later a male and female were allegedly assaulted by a group of males on Queens Promenade.

Police say they suspect the offences are linked and were carried out by the same group.

Anyone who saw what happened – in particular a group of 20 male cyclists who were in the area at the time - is asked to contact Ramsey Police Station on 812234.
