Police renew fatal accident appeal

Police are renewing their appeal for witnesses to a fatal road traffic accident earlier this month.

It happened at Hillberry at 10.42 pm on Saturday, May 3.

An 18 year-old man who was a passenger in a car was killed.

Police say they would like to speak to the driver and occupants of a dark coloured car which had travelled from the Ramsey direction and stopped in the lay-by in front of the Creg-ny-Baa public house at around about 10.30pm.

It's thought there were three men in the vehicle which is described as having distinctive, shiny, silver coloured wheel rims.

Officers say they would also like to speak to anybody who may have been travelling towards Ramsey on the Snaefell Mountain Road, just prior to the collision, who may have been dazzled by an oncoming vehicle driven on high beam.

If you are able to help, please contact the Roads Policing Unit at police headquarters on 631 212.
