Police unveil new dedicated website

Inter-active portal ups digital presence

Police say their new website launched today, will offer the Manx public a convenient and user-friendly way to get in touch.

www.iompolice.im offers a wide range of information, support, advice and links to other agencies, in an inter-active, one-stop portal.

It's the Constabulary's first dedicated site - previously, police information appeared under Home Affairs on the main government website.

Members of the public can now report minor matters online, read crime prevention tips, notify police of lost and found items, look at force vacancies and apply for certain licences.

Victims of serious crime can find out how their case will be dealt with and offered links to support groups.

Police chiefs say the site will save manpower by cutting out 'the middle man' when other agencies can help - freeing-up officers to spend more time on patrol. 

Neighbourhood policing teams will have their own area, and the Constabulary's Twitter feeds will stream on the home page.
