Officers say allow yourself plenty of time as the area is likely to be busy.
Police are advising parents to ensure the safety of children by adhering to parking restrictions outside schools.
After monitoring some Manx schools over the past few days, the constabulary says the main issue is that people either do not know or choose to ignore the signs and markings or are leaving it late to get to school resulting in them parking dangerously.
It added they noticed some drivers parking on the yellow zigzag road markings, which has the writing 'School Keep Clear', which could put pupils in a dangerous position.
Officers are warning reckless parking could result in fines for motorists.
Safety tips for parking outside schools
When picking up or dropping off children at schools, you should do the following:
• Allow yourself plenty of time as the area is likely to be busy.
• Do not park on yellow zigzag lines and ideally avoid parking opposite them.
• If you decide to park further away, please be considerate of local residents and avoid blocking driveways or access ways.
